These are not a mission statement we may quietly revise. They are binding objects of the Foundation.

First right to milk

Every calf is fed before anything is ever collected from its mother.

No commercial exploitation

No animal in our care is sold, worked, bred for profit, or slaughtered — ever.

Lifelong care

Shelter, feed, veterinary treatment and dignity, until natural death.

Rescue, not breeding

We take in the discarded and the abandoned. We do not breed animals for the shelter.

Self-sustaining

By-products fund the animals’ own upkeep and supply organic inputs to farmers.

Non-profit, always

Every rupee is applied to the Foundation’s objects. None to any director or trustee.

The abandoned are disproportionately males, the aged and the injured — precisely the animals a no-exploitation shelter exists to take in.

Why a network, not one site. With green fodder grown on site, 25 acres sustains roughly 350–500 animals and 100 acres roughly 1,500. Ten thousand cattle therefore mean somewhere between seven and twenty-five sites — which is also why rescue capacity ends up near every district, not concentrated in one place.

The honest position. By-products and adoption income reduce the deficit; they do not eliminate it. A shelter that never sells milk and never sells an animal will always need philanthropy. Our task is to minimise the gap, year on year — not to pretend it does not exist.

India already trades in cow-dung products — a market of roughly ₹400 crore in 2023–24, with buyers as far as Kuwait and the UAE. The demand exists; we are not inventing it, only meeting it, for the sake of the cows who make it possible.

Where our first Govinda Dham will stand

We are pursuing government allotment and a private interim lease at the same time — whichever comes first lets the rescue work begin.

Track A · Government allotment

25–100 acres, within 100 km of Hyderabad

  • Under the Telangana Cow Slaughter Act, 1977 and the Goshala Ecosystem Development Policy, 2025
  • Registration as a satellite goshala with the State Goshala Welfare Board
  • The larger the parcel, the more of the herd’s own fodder it can grow
Track B · Private interim lease

5–25 acres, in or around Hyderabad

  • A lease of three to five years, to begin rescue work now
  • A nominal rent — or gratefully accepted waived, for the cause
  • We relocate once Track A land is allotted, at our own cost

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs approved “Svayam Bhagwan Gau Seva Foundation” for registration as a Section 8 non-profit company. Incorporation is now in progress.
